Off-Broadway's 'Stomp' to close after nearly 29 years

1994년 오피움 시어터 초연...내년 1월8일 폐막 총 11,472회 공연 

비언어 공연 '난타(Cookin')'에 영감을 준 오프브로드웨이 비언어 퍼포먼스 '스톰프(Stomp)'가 내년 1월 8일 29년만에 막을 내린다.

1991년 스티브 맥니콜라스와 루크 크레스웰이 창작한 '스톰프'는 런던 웨스트엔드에서 초연된 후 1994년 2월 맨해튼 이스트빌리지의 오피움시어터(The Orpheum Theatre)에서 공연을 시작, '스톰프'는 총 1만1천472회를 기록하게 된다. 

500석 미만의 극장 오프브로드웨이에서 최장기 공연 작품은 '완전 범죄(Perfect Crime)'으로 1987년 초연되어 2023년말까지 공연됐다. 2위는 1991년 다운타운 아스터플레이스 시어터에 초연되어 현재까지 공연중인 '블루 맨 그룹(Blue Man Group)'이다. 

한편, 브로드웨이 역사상 최장기 공연작품은 1988년 브로드웨이 마제스틱 시어터에 초연되어 올 4월 16일 폐막할 예정인 '팬텀 오브 오페라(The Phantom of the Opera)'다.  https://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/844123?brand=STOMP
