뉴욕타임스의 식당 비평가 피트 웰스(Pete Wells)가 2023년 뉴욕시 베스트 요리 8개를 선정했다. 이 리스트는 2023 최우수 뉴 레스토랑의 요리는 제외했다. 순전히 피트 웰스가 좋아해서 다시 또 먹고 싶은 음식 리스트로 맨해튼 한인타운 인근 옥동식의 돼지곰탕에 대해서 "투명하고 황금빛 돼지고기 육수에 들어간 돼지고기와 흰 쌀밥, 옥동식의 돼지곰탕은 매일 먹을 수 있는 종류의 국물이다. 하지만 특히 원치 않았던 어떤 소식을 접한 날엔 특히 환영받는 음식"이라고 평했다.
