2019 뉴욕 영화제가 9월 27일 링컨센터 앨리스털리홀에서 마틴 스콜세지 감독의 신작 '아이리쉬맨(The Irishman)'를 세계 최초 상영하며 개막됐다.

로버트 드 니로, 알 파치노, 조 페치, 하비 카이텔이 출연하는 갱영화 '아이리쉬맨'은 범죄, 부패, 탐욕, 사랑, 충성, 배신, 속죄에 관한 서사극이다. 1억5천900만 달러의 제작비가 투여됐으며, 11월 1일 미 전역에 개봉된 후 11월 27일 넷플릭스를 통해 상영된다.

한국영화로는 봉준호 감독의 칸영화제 황금종려상 수상작 '기생충(Parasite)'가 초청되어 10월 5일 오후 9시, 7일 오후 6시 앨리스털리홀에서 상영되며, 10월 8일 오후 6시 프란체스카 빌 시어터에서 감독과의 대화 시간을 갖는다. 제 57회 뉴욕영화제는 오는 10월 13일까지 계속된다.

Synopsis:

Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci star in Martin Scorsese’s THE IRISHMAN, an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century.
