New York, NY (July 29, 2026) – Film at Lincoln Center unveils the 64th New York Film Festival poster, designed by multidisciplinary artist Marcel Dzama. Dzama joins an incredible lineup of acclaimed artists across a range of media who have contributed their work to the festival since its inception, including David Hockney, Niki de Saint Phalle, Sol LeWitt, Diane Arbus, Josef Albers, Laurie Anderson, Richard Serra, Nan Goldin, and David Byrne. The complete archive of NYFF posters can be viewed here, and all artists to date can be found below. Presented by Film at Lincoln Center in partnership with Rolex, NYFF64 takes place September 25 through October 12.
“I’m beyond grateful to have this opportunity to be able to collaborate with the New York Film Festival,” said Dzama. “What a complete honor as a longtime fan of both the film programming and the artists that made the posters before me. When I was first asked to do this collaboration I knew immediately that I wanted to weave elements of George Méliès’s A Trip to the Moon, Loie Fuller’s Serpentine Dance, and my own interpretation of Federico García Lorca’s surrealist screenplay of A Trip to the Moon. I wanted the poster to represent the vibrant programming, bold selections, and groundbreaking art that I’ve come to know from NYFF. I wanted it to feel like a celebration.”
The limited-edition posters are now available for purchase via Posteritati, with a limited number signed by the artist. Additionally, a limited number of posters will be available for purchase during the festival at Film at Lincoln Center’s merchandise stores located in Alice Tully Hall and the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center. FLC Members receive a 10% discount on the poster.
Marcel Dzama (b. 1974) has developed a distinctive visual language that explores human behavior, imagination, and the shifting boundary between reality and the subconscious. Drawing on folk traditions, art history, and contemporary culture, his work conjures worlds of childhood fantasy, myth, and surreal narrative.
Born in Winnipeg, Canada, Dzama received his BFA from the University of Manitoba in 1997 and has been represented by David Zwirner since 1998. He has presented 15 solo exhibitions with the gallery, most recently Empress of Night (Los Angeles, 2025).
Dzama has exhibited internationally at major museums and institutions, including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Savannah College of Art and Design Museum of Art, Sara Hildén Art Museum, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Kunstmuseum Thun, Pinakothek der Moderne, Ikon Gallery, and Museo de Arte de Zapopan. In 2023, he premiered To Live on the Moon (For Lorca), a film and performance commissioned by Performa for the Performa Biennial.
Beyond drawing and painting, Dzama has worked across film, installation, public art, and performance. In 2016, he designed the costumes and sets for the New York City Ballet’s The Most Incredible Thing, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale. In 2021, MTA Arts & Design unveiled his permanent mosaic, No Less Than Everything Comes Together, at the Bedford Avenue subway station in Brooklyn.
Dzama’s work is held in major public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, National Gallery of Art, Tate, Centre Pompidou, Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Gallery of Canada. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
