Cannes Film Festival 2026 Award Winners

유럽영화 본상 대거 석권, 나홍진 감독 '호프' 수상 불발

루마니아 감독 크리스티안 문지우의 드라마 '피요르드(Fjord)'가 박찬욱 감독이 심사위원장을 맡은 제 79회 칸영화제에서 황금종려상을 수상했다. 

 

'피요르드'는 노르웨이의 피요르드식 해안 마을로 이주한 보수적인 부부(루마니아인 남편과 노르웨이인 부인)가 아동 학대 사건에 휘말리며 벌어지는 문화적·사회적 가치관 충돌을 다룬 작품이다. '4개월, 3주 그리고 2일(4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, 2007)'로 첫 황금종려상을 받았던 크리스티안 문지우 감독은 프란시스포드 코폴라, 미카엘 하네케 등과 함께 칸영화제 사상 황금종려상을 2회 수상한 역대 10번째 감독이 되었다. 문지우 감독은 뿐만 아니라 '언덕을 넘어(For Beyond the Hills, 2012)'로 칸영화제 각본상, '졸업(Graduation, 2016)'으로 감독상을 수상한 바 있다. 

 

기대를 모았던 나홍진 감독의 '호프(Hope)'는 수상하지 못했으며, 역시 경쟁 부문 후보였던 후카다 고지 감독의 'Nagi Notes(ナギダイアリ)'와 고레에다 히로가츠 감독의 'Sheep in the Box(箱の中の羊)' 등 일본 영화 2편도 수상에 고배를 마셨다.  한편, 하마구치 류스케 감독의 'All of a Sudden(急に具合が悪くなる)'에 출연한 버지니 에피라와 오카모토 타오는 공동으로 여우상을 수상했다. 

 

이번 칸영화제 본상은 유럽영화들이 대거 석권했다. '피요르드'의 미국 배급사는 2019년 '기생충'으로 시작 7년 연속 황금종려상 수상작을 낚아 챈 네온(Neon)이다. 

 

한편, 컬럼비아대 재학 중인 진미송(Nadine Misong Jin)씨가 뉴욕의 한인 이민자 이야기를 다룬 '침묵의 목소리(Silent Voices, 17분)'는 퀴어 황금종려상 최우수 단편영화(Queer Palm for Best Short Film)와 학생 단편영화 부문인 시네퐁다시옹 상(CINÉFONDATION AWARDS) 2위를 수상했다.
