최고가 로마네 콩티 4만5천파운드에 낙찰

크리스티, 음악교육(MiSST) 기금 50만 파운드 조성 

 

 

뮤지컬 '팬텀 오브 오페라' '캣츠' '에비타' '지저스 크라이스트 수퍼스타'의 작곡가 앤드류 로이드 웨버(Andrew Lloyd Webber, 78)가 소장한 명품 와인이 5월 9일 크리스티 온라인 경매에서 100% 판매되며 51만7천910 파운드(약 68만 달러)의 음악교육 기금을 조성했다. 

 

'앤드류 로이드 웨버 와인 셀러의 마지막 보물들(Final Treasures from the Wine Cellar of Andrew Lloyd Webber)'을 타이틀로 한 이번 경매엔 세계 28개국에서 참가해 글로벌 입찰 경합이 벌어져 최저 추정가의 134%에 낙찰됐다. 

 

 

 

이번 와인 경매 최고가는 도멘 드라 로마네 콩티, 로마네 콩티 2005(3병)로 4만5천 파운드에 낙찰됐으며, 도멘 드라 로마네 콩티, 라 타슈 2005(6병)가 4만 파운드에 팔렸다. 이외에도 샤토 마고 1900, 1945, 샤토 무통-로칠드 1959, 샤토 오브리옹 1961(매그넘), 샤토 슈발 블랑 1947, 페트뤼스 1989와 1990, 샤토 디켐 1949와 1990이 나왔다.

 

부르고뉴/버건디는 2005 로마네 콩티와 1990 라 타슈를 포함, 도멘 루쏘, 트라페, 부샤르, 페벨리, 귀작, 클로드 타르,와 도멘 듀지니 등이 선보였다. 화이트 부르고뉴로는 도멘 르플레브 2005, 바타르 몽라셰와 비앙베뉘 바타르 몽라셰(매그넘)과 거펜스-헤이넨이 나왔다. 

 

한편, 론 와인으로는 기갈, 앙리 보노와 자메, 샴페인으로는 돔 페리뇽, 볼랭저 RD, 크리스탈과 도이츠(Deutz), 그외에도 포트 와인, 셰리, 그리고 소테른 등이 경매됐다. 

 

모든 수익금은 앤드류 로이드 웨버의 '학교 내 음악 프로그램(Music in Schools Programme)'을 운영하는 MiSST에 기부된다. 이 프로그램은 학생들에게 무료 악기 대여, 주간 지도 수업, 클래식 음악교육 과정을 제공하며, 현재까지 약 3만 명의 학생을 지원해 왔다. 이번 경매로 4,000명의 학생이 추가로 프로그램에 참여할 수 있게 되었다. 이로써 음악을 통해 소외 계층 학생들의 삶을 변화시키고자 하는 MiSST의 사명을 더욱 확장하는 데 기여하게 되었다.

Bottles from one of the world's most celebrated private wine collections, assembled by Andrew Lloyd Webber, sold online by Christie's in support of The Music in Secondary Schools Trust

LONDON – 100% sold, Final Treasures from the Wine Cellar of Andrew Lloyd Webber has raised £517,910 for The Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST). The sale attracted strong international participation from collectors, attracting registrants from 28 countries, and sparking global competitive bidding between clients from EMEA (59%), APAC (23%), and Americas (18%). The collection was 134% sold by value. 

 

All proceeds are being donated to MiSST which administers Lloyd Webber's Music in Schools Programme. It provides access to free instruments, weekly tuition and a classical music curriculum, and has supported nearly 30,000 students to date. These results enable a further 4,000 students to join the Programme, helping to extend MiSST's mission of transforming the lives of disadvantaged students through music. 

 

The highest price achieved was Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Conti 2005 (3 bottles), raising £45,000, followed by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, La Tâche 2005 (6 bottles), raising £40,000.

Yet successive UK Governments persistently refuse to invest in a programme whose proven social and financial benefit to the nation is manifest. Vague platitudes get muttered, but platitudes are about all they amount to.

 

My programme gives each child a free musical instrument and a weekly music lesson. It is administered by the Music In Secondary Schools Trust whose expertise and dedication in this area is unrivalled.

The Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST) is dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged students through music. About Andrew Lloyd Webber

Andrew Lloyd Webber has composed the scores of some of the world's most famous musicals. His shows have run continuously in London's West End for 50 years and ran for 43 uninterrupted years on Broadway.

 

When the original Sunset Boulevard joined School of Rock, CATS, and The Phantom of the Opera he equalled Rodgers & Hammerstein's record of four shows running simultaneously on Broadway. He is one of the select group of artists with EGOT status, having received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards.

His mantra is that every penny of profit made from his theatres is ploughed back into the buildings for their conservation and development.

 

Lloyd Webber is passionate about the importance of musical education and diversity in the arts. Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation provides 30 performing arts scholarships every year for talented students with financial need, and supports a range of projects such as the Music In Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST).

 

In academic year September 2025 - 2026, 14,885 children are being given free musical tuition and instruments as part of MiSST's Andrew Lloyd Webber Programme. The Foundation also commissions research into diversity in theatre.

 

Andrew Lloyd Webber has composed music for globally significant moments. Most recently, he was asked to compose “Make a Joyful Noise”, the anthem for the Coronation of King Charles III.

 

Andrew Lloyd Webber was knighted in 1992, created an honorary life peer in 1997, and made a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter by King Charles III in 2024.
