방탄소년단(BTS)가 오는 3월 20일 5년만의 정규 앨범  '아리랑(Arirang)' 발매 후 21일엔 서울 광화문 콘서트 'BTS: The Comeback', 그리고 23일엔 뉴욕에서 스포티파이(Spotify)와 협업으로 콘서트 'BTS x Spotify: SWIMSIDE'를 연다고 음악잡지 롤링스톤(RollingStone.com)이 보도했다. 

 

장소가 미공개인 뉴욕 콘서트는 약 4년만의 미국 공연이다. 음원 스트리밍업체 스포티파이는 이 콘서트에 BTS의 최상위 팬 및 가장 열성적인 청취자 1,000명을 초청할 예정이다. 콘서트 외에도 앨범 테마에 맞춘 몰입형 체험 프로그램들을 함께 선보일 것으로 알려졌다. 스포티파이는 BTS 팬들인 'ARMY(아미)'가 손꼽아 기다려온 그룹의 컴백을 함께 축하할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다. 앱(App) 내에서 '이스터 에그 찾기' 이벤트를 시작하여 RM, 진, 슈가, 제이홉, 지민, 뷔, 정국의 단독 음성 메시지를 공개하고, 팬들이 자신의 지식을 겨룰 수 있는 BTS 테마 퀴즈도 제공한다. 

 

BTS 멤버 전원이 미국 무대에 함께 섰던 마지막 순간은 2022년 'Permission to Dance on Stage' 투어 때였다. 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 이 투어는 관객이 입장한 공연과 무관중 공연을 병행하는 스타디움 공연 형태로 진행되었다. 투어는 2021년 10월 24일 서울에서 시작, 2022년 4월 16일 네바다주 라스베이거스에서 막을 내렸다. 그 후 그룹 멤버 7명 전원이 군 복무를 마칠 수 있도록 활동을 잠정 중단하면서 각자 솔로로 활동했다. 

 

3월 20일 앨범 '아리랑'이 공개와 광화문, 뉴욕 콘서트 이후 BTS는 4월 9일부터 총 82회에 걸친 월드 투어의 막을 올리며 2027년 3월까지 전 세계를 누비는 대장정을 이어간다. 2022년 활동 중단을 선언한 이후 첫 그룹 인터뷰에서, 리더 RM은 GQ와의 대화를 통해 "가장 중요한 것은 바로 우리가 다시 이렇게 함께 모였다는 사실"이라며, "이제 전 세계의 팬 여러분을 만나러 갈 것"이라고 밝혔다. 3월 21일 광화문 무료 콘서트는 넷플릭스에서 스트림되며, 3월 27일 다큐멘터리 'BTS: The Return'으로 공개될 예정이다. 

 

앨범 '아리랑'엔 "Body to Body"을 비롯, "Hooligan" "Aliens" "FYA" "2.0" "No. 29" "Swim" "Merry Go Round"  "Normal" "Like Animals" "They Don't Know 'Bout Us" "One More Night" "Please" "Into the Sun" 등 14곡이 수록됐다.
