미 독립영화와 TV를 대상으로 시상하는 제 41회 인디펜던트 스피릿 어워드(Independent Spirit Awards)가 2월 15일 LA 할리우드 팔라디움에서 열렸다. 

 

최우수 작품상과 감독상은 클린트 벤틀리의 '트레인 드림(Train Dream)'이 수상했다. TV 부문에선 '어덜레슨스(Adolescence)'가 최우수 신작 시리즈, 주연상, 조연상, 신인상을 휩쓸었다. 

 

클린트 벤틀리 감독의 '트레인 드림'은 아이다호 통나무 집에서 산 한 남자의 80년 인생을 담았다. 이 영화는 아카데미 최우수 작품, 각색, 촬영, 주제가상 등 4개 부문 후보에도 올라 있다. 영국산 심리 범죄 드라마 '어덜레슨스'는 여학생 살해 혐의로 체포된 소년의 이야기로 매 에피소드가 원 테이크로 촬영됐다. 

 

영화 부문에선 1975년 사진작가 후자르와 친구의 대화를 담은 아이라 삭스(Ira Sachs) 감독의 '피터 후자르의 하루(Peter Hujar's Day)'가 5개 부문 후보에 올랐으나, 수상하지 못했다.
