뉴요커 짐 자무쉬(Jim Jarmusch, 72) 감독의 신작 '아버지, 엄마, 누이, 형제(Father, Mother, Sister, Brother)'가 2025 베니스영화제 대상인 황금사자상(Golden Lion)을 수상했다.

 

가수 톰 웨이츠('다운 바이 로' 출연), 아담 드라이버, 샬롯 램플링, 케이트 블랜쳇이 출연한 가족 3부작이다. 자무쉬가 시나리오를 쓴 이 영화는 모두 현재, 각각 다른 나라에서 일어나는 성인 자녀들과 늙거나 세상을 떠난 부모와 다시 만나거나 관계를 회복하는 과정을 다루었다.

 

제프와 에밀리 남매(아담 드라이버, 마임 비알릭)는 뉴저지 시골(밀포드)에서 은둔형 외톨이 아버지(톰 웨이츠)를 찾아간다. 릴리스와 티모테아 자매(비키 크립스와 케이트 블란쳇)는 더블린에서 소설가 어머니(샬롯 램플링)를 만난다. 한편, 쌍둥이 스카이와 빌리(인디아 무어, 루카 사바트)는 가족의 비극을 다루기 위해 파리의 아파트로 돌아온다. 2025 뉴욕영화제 센터피스로 선정됐다. 

 

제 82회 베니스영화제 본선의 심사위원장은 미국의 알렉산더 페인(사이드웨이즈, 어바웃 슈미츠, 네브라스카) 감독이었으며, 심사위원은 스테파니 브리제(프랑스, 영화감독), 마우라 델페로(이탈리아, 영화감독), 크리스티안 문쥬(루마이나, 영화감독), 모하마드 라술로프(이란, 영화감독), 페르난다 토레스(브라질, 배우), 자오 타오(중국, 배우)가 맡았다.
