뉴욕시의 건립 400주년을 기념해 9월 7일 타임스퀘어에서 브로드웨이 뮤지컬 무료 콘서트가 열린다. 

'브로드웨이가 창립한(Founded by Broadway)'으로 명명된 이 콘서트는 7일 오전 11시부터 12시 30분까지 더피스퀘어(Duffy Square, Broadway & 7th Ave. West 46th St. & 47th St.)에서 뮤지컬/연극 23편이 공연된다.  

무대에 올려질 뮤지컬로는 '알라딘(Aladdin)', '앤 줄리엣(& Juliet)', '북 오브 몰몬(The Book of Mormon)', '부에나비스타 소셜클럽(Buena Vista Social Club)', '캬바레(Cabaret)', '시카고(Chicago), '죽어야 사는 여자(Death Becomes Her)', '위대한 개츠비(The Great Gatsby)', '해리 포터와 저주받은 아이(Harry Potter and the Cursed Child)', '헬스 키친(Hell’s Kitchen)', '저스트 인 타임(Just in Time)', '라이온 킹(The Lion King)', '맘마 미아!(Mamma Mia!)', '메이비 해피엔딩(Maybe Happy Ending)', 마이클 잭슨 뮤지컬 'MJ', '물랑 루즈!(Moulin Rouge! The Musical)', 'Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical', '아웃사이더즈(The Outsiders)', '펀치(Punch)', '식스(SIX: The Musical)', 'Stranger Things: The First Shadow', 'Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)', 그리고 '위키드(Wicked)' 등이다. 

'Founded by Broadway'는 뉴욕시 설립 400주년 캠페인 'Founded by NYC'의 일환으로 에릭 아담스 뉴욕시장, NYC Tourism + Conventions, NYC Tourism과 브로드웨이연맹(The Boradway League)가 공동으로 주최한다.

In celebration of New York City’s 400th anniversary and Broadway’s outsize role influencing performance and culture worldwide, stars of Broadway will come together for a free Founded By NYC concert in Times Square. Taking place at 11am in Duffy Square (rain or shine), the concert will feature cast members from more than 20 current shows belting out beloved songs of the stage.
