2025 뉴욕 바스티유 데이 거리 축제가 7월 34일 일요일 정오부터 오후 5시까지 매디슨애브뉴(60-63 스트릿)에서 열렸다. 올해의 주제는 'Côte d’Azur (blue coast, French Riviera)'로 칸느 부스(Cannes Booth)와 프렌치 가든, 리비에라의 맛(A Taste of Riviera)'도 진행됐다. 그리고, 인상파 화가 피에르 보나르의 삶을 그린 마르탱 프로보스트(Martin Provost) 감독의 영화 'Bonnard, Pierre & Marthe'도 상영됐다.

프랑스 혁명 기념일, 바스티유 데이(Bastille Day, 1789. 7. 14)는 프랑스 시민들이 파리 바스티유 감옥을 습격하면서 절대 군주 루이 16세를 몰아내고 주권국가를 탄생시킬 프랑스 대혁명이 시작된 날이다. 1792년 최초의 공화국과 함께 블루/화이트/레드의 3색(La Tricolore. 라 트리콜로르)은 자유/평등/ 우애를 상징하는 국기와 애국가 '라 마르세이유(La Marseillaise)'가 작곡되었다. 뉴욕에서는 프랑스협회(French Institute Alliance Française, FIAF)가 매년 14일을 즈음한 일요일에 바스티유 데이 거리 축제를 열고 있다.

 

마카롱, 크롸쌍, 크레페, 치즈 등 프랑스 먹거리와 의류 등 'Made in France'뿐만 아니라 스페인 음식 빠예야까지 50여개 부스가 참가했다. 유명인사들을 배경으로 사진 촬영하기, 라이브 콘서트, 경품 콘테스트도 진행됐다.

New Yorkers’ favorite summer festival is back! Bastille Day returns to Madison Avenue this year with the refreshing theme of outdoor living in the Côte d’Azur. Visitors can eat, shop and play à la française, with a beach-themed performance, fun (free!) outdoor activities like arts and crafts and dance workshops on our pop-up lawn, plus exclusive film screenings, tasting parties, and over 50 booths showcasing the finest French food, artisan crafts, and unique finds. The celebration will take place on Sunday, July 13, from noon to 5 pm, spanning Madison Avenue from 59th to 63rd Street.
