뉴욕의 무용학교 앨빈에일리스쿨 출신 댄서 올라 백센데일(Órla Baxendale, 1998 - 2024)이 최근 바닐라 플로렌틴/피렌체 쿠키(Vanilla Florentine cookie)에 함유된 땅콩으로 인해 알레르기로 사망했다. 이 과자엔 라벨이 잘못 붙어 땅콩과 달걀 함유량을 표기하지 않은 것으로 알려졌다.

한편, 업스테이트 뉴욕에 기반한 번 데어리(Byrne Dairy)는 땅콩이 함유될 가능성이 있는 초콜릿 아이스크림 박스Byrne Dairy Might Finer를 자발적으로 리콜한다고 밝혔다. 영국 맨체스터 출신 올라 백센데일은 수퍼마켓(Stew Leonard's)에서 구입한 바닐라 플로렌틴 쿠키를 먹은 후 사망했다. Lace Cookie라고도 알려진 Florentine cookie는 견과류, 과일, 사탕을 재료로 만든 얇은 과자로 구운 후에 초콜릿을 담그거나 뿌린다.

Órla Baxendale (1998 - 2024) was born and raised in Manchester, UK, where she started Irish dance at a very early age. She later developed a love for other dance styles and started training at Northern Ballet Academy, Leeds UK, and Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham, UK. In 2018 she moved to New York to train as a scholarship student at The Ailey School where she worked with various choreographers including Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘A’ choreographed by Brice Mousset for The Ailey School January Explosion concert.  Órla performed in New York Fashion week and was a cast member of English With An Accent, a dance-theater production which was performed at New York's Lincoln Center. She was part of an entertainment group and worked on multiple freelance projects throughout the New York area.
