맨해튼 한인타운의 바비큐 식당 백정(Baekjeong, 1 East 32nd St.)이 올 가을 위치를 1블럭 떨어진 곳으로 이전해 '백정 블랙(Baekjeong Black, 49 West 32nd St.)에 오픈할 예정이라고 eater.com이 전했다. eater.com은 이에 앞선 2월 2일 백정이 9년만에 폐업했다고 보도한 바 있다. 백정의 대표 바비 곽(Bobby Kwak)과 조셉 고(Joseph Ko)는 백정 블랙이 300석 규모가 될 것이라고 밝혔다.

이들은 백정 자리에 2월 20일 뉴욕 최초의 소곱창 전문 식당 '아가씨 곱창(Aghassi Gopchang)'을 오픈한다. 백정과 아가씨 곱창은 씨름 선수 출신 코미디언 강호동씨가 지분을 보유한 외식 프랜차이즈 기업 육칠팔 계열이다. 2012년 LA에 오픈한 아가씨 곱창은 BTS가 다녀간 후 주목을 받아왔다. <2024. 2. 13. Update>

맨해튼 바비큐 식당 백정(Baekjeong) 문닫아 

맨해튼 한인타운의 바비큐 체인 레스토랑 백정(Baekjeong, 1 East 32nd St.)가 오픈한 지 9년만에 문을 닫았다고 eater.com이 전했다. 백정은 yelp.com의 백정 페이지에 "임시 휴업. 2024년 2월 16일 오픈 예정"이라는 알림이 있지만, google에선 '폐업(permanently closed)'라고 표시되었다. 백정의 대표 바비 곽(Bobby Kwak)씨는 eater.com에 현 위치에서 문을 닫았다고 확인했다. 백정은 셰프 안소니 부르댕과  LA 비평가 조나단 골드의 호평을 받았으며, 모모푸쿠 셰프 데이빗 장, 테니스 스타 세레나와 비너스 윌리엄스, 마리아 샤라포바, 가수 에드 쉬란 등이 다녀갔다.
