미 프로농구(National Basketball Association)에 첫 한인 심판(referee)이 탄생했다. AP 통신에 따르면 황인태(Intae Hwang, 44)씨는 최근 흑인 여성 샤래 미첼(Sha’Rae Mitchell)과 함께 다음 시즌 정규 심판으로 승격됐다. 황인태씨는 비전임 심판에서 새 시즌 전임심판 74명에 합류했다. 부산외국어대학교를 졸업한 황씨는 2004년 한국농구협회 심판으로 시작, 2016 리우 올림픽 여자 농구 결승전의 심판을 맡았으며, 2020년 아시아인 최초로 NBA 심판 양성 프로그램에 초청받아 뉴저지로 이주했다.
