세계 여행자들의 가이드북 '론리 플래닛(Lonely Planet)'이 '2026년 반드시 방문해야 할 세계 25대 여행지(25 best places to travel in 2026)'에 제주도를 선정했다. 

 

제주도를 '한국의 하와이(Hawaii of Korea)'라 부른 론리 플래닛은 해발 1947m(6388ft) 화산섬 한라산 정상에 오르는 것은 여행의 최고봉이며, 서귀포 주변의 온화한 바다는 부드러운 산호, 다시마, 열대어 사이에서 다이빙을 즐기기에 완벽한 곳이라고 소개했다. 또한, 제주 올레길(Jeju Ole Trail)의 27개 코스로 섬의 자연과 문화를 한걸음씩 누빌 수 있가고 전했다. 또한, 제주도 밖의 가파도는 5월이면 돌담으로 둘러싸인 청보리밭 사이로 만발하는 유채꽃도 놓치지 말라고 전했다.
