맨해튼 플라자 호텔 앞의 파리 시어터(Paris Theater)가 올 7-8월 폐업할 것으로 알려졌다.
71년 역사를 지닌 파리 시어터 웹사이트엔 6월 27일까지 론 하워드 감독의 다큐멘터리 '파바로티' 상영 후의 스케줄이 잡혀있지 않다.
뉴욕은 최근 미드타운의 아르데코 극장 지그펠드 시어터(Ziegfeld Theater), 로어이스트사이드의 랜드마크 선샤인 시네마(Landmark's Sunshine Cinemas), 그리고 링컨 플라자 시네마(Lincoln Plaza Cinema)까지 아트하우스 극장들이 차례로 문을 닫았다.
