2024 지나바카우어 콩쿠르 3관왕 선율(Youl Sun)

10월 29일 잰켈홀서 김택수 작곡 '판소리 판타지' 등 연주

 

 

2024년 지나 바카우어(Gina Bachauer) 국제 피아노 콩쿠르에서 우승한 선율(Youl Sun, 25)의 리사이틀이 10월 29일 오후 7시 30분 카네기 잰켈홀에서 열린다. 

 

선율은 이 콘서트에서 가브리엘라 레나 프랑크의 '두개의 안데스 초상화', 김택수(Texu Kim) 작곡 '판소리 판타지(Pansori Fantasy)', 드뷔시의 '영상 제 1집과 제 2집', 그리고 리스트의 '초절기교 연습곡'을 연주할 예정이다. '판소리 판타지'는 선율이 2024 서울국제음악콩쿠르에서 연주해 1위 수상한 곡이다. 

 

선율 리사이틀은 11월 6일 유타주 솔트레이크시티의 로즈와그너퍼포밍아트센터(Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center)로 이어진다. 

 

한국예술종합학교에서 김대진 교수를 사사한 선율은 파리 스콜라 칸토룸과 에콜 노르말 음악원에서 올리비에 갸르동(Olivier Gardon)을 사사했다. 2024 지나 바카우어 콩쿠르에서 금메달, 청중상과 학생심사위원상을 석권했으며, 서울국제음악콩쿠르에서도 우승했다. 마포문화재단 상주음악가 '2026 M 아티스트'로 선정됐다. 

 

작곡가 김택수는 서울대에서 화학를 전공하다가 작곡과로 편입, 동 대학원을 졸업했다. 인디애나 음대에서 박사 학위를 받은 후 현재 인디애나대 작곡과 교수로 재직 중이다. ‘찹쌀떡(Chopsaltteok)’,  ‘초등학교 환상곡(Blowfish)’ 등 일상적인 소재와 유머, 한국적인 정서를 결합한 대중성적인 클래식을 만들어내고 있다는 평가를 받았다. 2020년 롱 유가 지휘하는 뉴욕필하모닉이 그의 작곡 '스핀-플립(Spin-Flip)'을 연주했다.

Fresh from his Bachauer Gold Medal victory, Korean pianist Youl Sun performs a program featuring music by Gabriela Lena Frank and Texu Kim, along with Debussy's colorful Images and Liszt's monumental Transcendental Études, both celebrated works in the piano repertoire.

Youl Sun came to international prominence with a remarkable triple victory at the 2024 Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition, earning the Gold Medal, Audience Choice Prize, and Student Jury Prize. That same year, he won First Prize at the Seoul International Music Competition. In 2026, he added Second Prize and the Best Performance of a 20th-Century Work Award at the Ljubljana Festival Piano Competition.

 

Youl has performed throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, appearing at venues including the Concertgebouw, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Salle Cortot, and Abravanel Hall, and with orchestras including the Minnesota Orchestra, Utah Symphony, and KBS Symphony Orchestra.

 

A graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, Youl continued his studies in France, graduating from both the Schola Cantorum de Paris and the École Normale de Musique de Paris. He studied with Daejin Kim and currently studies with Olivier Gardon.
