뮤지컬 '해밀턴' 토니상 16개 부문 후보

최우수 뮤지컬, 대본, 작곡, 주연...'프로듀서'와 '빌리 엘리엇' 15개 기록 경신

브로드웨이 힙합 뮤지컬 '해밀턴'이 토니상 70년 역사상 최다인 16개 부문 후보에 올랐다. 이제까지 최고 기록은 15개 부문에 노미네이트된 '프로듀서'(2001)와 '빌리 엘리엇'(2009)이었다. 


 '해밀턴'은 최우수 뮤지컬, 최우수 남우, 최우수 대본, 최우수 작곡상 등 16개 부문에 노미네이트됐다. 이로써 올 토니상은 '해밀턴' 잔치가 될 것으로 예상된다.


미 건국의 아버지이자 초대 재무장관을 지낸 알렉산더 해밀턴의 이야기를 그린 뮤지컬 '해밀턴'은 린 마누엘 미란다가 각본, 작곡, 주연으로 비평가들로부터 만장일치의 찬사를 받았으며, 흥행에서도 블록버스터 뮤지컬이 됐다. 그러나, 미국 역사와 랩으로 외국인들이 즐기기에는 부담스러운 뮤지컬이다. 


제 70회 토니상은 6월 12일 맨해튼 비컨 시어터에서 열리며, GBS-TV로 생중계된다.
