2015 제임스 비어드 재단상 시상식이 5월 4일 처음 뉴욕을 떠나 시카고 릴릭 오페라 하우스에서 열렸다. 그러나, 뉴욕의 셰프와 식당이 주요 부문상을 휩쓸었다.


올 제임스비어드재단상에서는 업스테이트 뉴욕 포칸티코 힐 스톤반즈의 블루힐은 데이빗 장의 모모푸쿠 누들바를 누르고 최우수 레스토랑상을 수상했다. 또한, 대니 마이어의 레스토랑 그래머시 태번의 수석 요리사 마이클 안소니가 최우수 요리사상의 영예를 안았다. 

뉴욕에서는 이외에도 바타드(Batard)가 최우수 뉴 레스토랑상, 설리번 스트릿 베이커리가 최우수 베이커상,  모모푸쿠 베이커리의 크리스티나 토시가 최우수 페이스트리 셰프상을 거머쥐었다.


뉴욕 링컨센터를 탈출한 이유가 메트로폴리탄뮤지엄의 패션 갈라와 버락 오바마 대통령의 뉴욕 방문이 아니었을까?

시카고로 몰려간 셰프들은 아카데미상 시상식을 방불케하는 진행으로 주목을 끌었다. 매끈한 진행에 시카고 블루스 콘서트, 그러나 스타들 대신 키친을 지휘하는 셰프들과 소믈리에, 레스토랑 대표들의 잔치였다.  www.jamesbeard.org
