워싱턴 한국문화원(원장 박명순)은 2018년 전시 작가를 공모합니다.
워싱턴 한국문화원 전시 공모 프로젝트는 한국 미술가들의 다양한 분야의 창의적인 작품을 미국 예술계에 소개하고 한국 미술가들의 활발한 창작 활동을 적극 지원하기 위하여 2016년부터 매년 실시되고 있습니다. 전시장(1,200 sf. 규모)은 워싱턴 한국문화원 2층에 위치하고 있으며 매달 다양한 장르의 미술전시와 연계 프로그램을 개최하여 오고 있습니다.
본 공모 작품 분야는 회화, 사진, 미디어, 설치, 조각 등 제한이 없으며 연령이나 국적에 제한 없이 누구나 지원할 수 있습니다. 당선된 작품은 2018년 워싱턴 한국문화원에서 그룹전으로 전시될 예정입니다.
공모 마감은 오는 10월 1일까지이며, 자세한 정보 및 신청서 다운로드는 워싱턴 한국문화원 웹사이트(www.koreaculturedc.org)를 통해 할 수 있습니다.
전시 공모 당선작은 공모 마감 후 현지 전문가들로 구성된 심사위원들의 공정한 심사를 거쳐 선발할 예정입니다. 공모 결과는 12월에 선정된 미술가 또는 미술단체에게 개별 통지될 예정입니다.
향후 워싱턴 한국문화원은 창의적인 역량을 갖춘 한국 미술가들에게 공정한 기회를 부여하며 활발한 창작활동을 지원할 예정입니다. 많은 미술가 여러분들의 관심과 참여를 바랍니다.

2018 Open Call for Artists
The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. is accepting exhibition proposals for the 2018 season, now through Sept. 1, 2017. The K-Art Gallery presents monthly exhibitions which highlight the diversity of Korean art, bringing east and west together while showcasing outstanding works by Korean, Korean heritage, and non-Korean artists. The gallery accommodates a wide range of art and media, both traditional and contemporary.
Application Period: June 1 - October 1, 2017
Application Materials (Korean and English):
- Completed Application Form (download below)
- Portfolio
- CV
- 10 images of the proposed artwork for a 2018 exhibition (JPEG files with titles, date, medium, and dimensions; for video works, submit a sample of each work)
- Artist's statement related to the images of works submitted
- Exhibition Proposal (including exhibition purpose)
For additional details on submitting an application, please see the guidelines available for download below, as well as a floor plan of the gallery space. Artists selected for participation in the 2018 season will be contacted later in the fall of 2017 after a thorough review process.
