    women'smarch.png

In partnership with the Women’s March on Washington, we are creating an open call for art to arm those gathered with visual messaging to amplify the voice of this monumental grassroots movement.

Artwork Distribution: A minimum of 30,000 posters and nine large-scale banners will be produced from this public call. Posters and banners will be made available free of charge to participants in the march in Washington, DC. Distribution points will be set up around the city with this free artwork, information to follow in early January.

Submission Details: Artists should submit artwork that can be used as a hand-held banner and/or poster, see dimension details below. All artwork should be inspired by the mission and values detailed by the WMW manifesto attached.

Who Can Apply: This submission process is open to all female-identifying artists located within the United States. Please note that you do not need to be a United States citizen to apply. The panel administering the selection process is committed to ensuring that the artwork reflects women and femme expressive people of all backgrounds.

Deadline for Submission: 2PM on January 8th, 2017

Selection Process: Artwork will be chosen by January 10, 2017 from an intersectional group of judges including Carmen Perez and Paola Mendoza from the WMW, Cleo Barnett from the Amplifier Foundation, independent artist Swoon, and Jess X. Snow and Favianna Rodriguez from Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative.

    What We Need:
    Poster Dimensions: 18in wide x 24in high
    Banner Dimensions: 16ft wide x 4ft high

Formatting: Please note that each individual submission must be under 5MB and we will ask for high resolution images if chosen. All art should be created as layered files if possible for printing purposes.

Compensation: For each artwork chosen the artist will receive a $500 grant.

The Amplifier Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Please note that upon acceptance of this Grant, your work may be presented and promoted on the Amplifier website and social media. Amplifier Foundation will retain the right to reproduce your art for public distribution and to display your art in exhibition form with artist credit and links to your work. This artwork will never be sold through the Amplifier Foundation.

    ABOUT AMPLIFIER FOUNDATION
WE ARE A VISUAL MEDIA EXPERIMENT DEDICATED TO AMPLIFYING THE VOICES OF GRASSROOTS MOVEMENTS THROUGH ART AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. WE DO THIS BY FUNDING COLLABORATIONS BETWEEN THOSE MOVEMENTS AND CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS SO THAT THEIR MESSAGES CAN REACH A WIDER AUDIENCE.

WOMEN’S MARCH ON WASHINGTON MISSION & VALUES
On January 21, 2017 we will unite in Washington, DC for the Women’s March on Washington. We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families, recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.

The rhetoric of the past election cycle has insulted, demonized, and threatened many of us: immigrants of all statuses, Muslims and those of diverse religious faiths, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native people,Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, and survivors of sexual assault. Our communities are hurting and scared. We are confronted with the question of how to move forward in the face of national and international concern and fear.

In the spirit of democracy and in honor of the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world, that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.

We support the advocacy and resistance movements that reflect our multiple and intersecting identities. We call on all defenders of human rights to join us. This march is the first step towards unifying our communities, grounded in new relationships, to create change from the grassroots level up. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all. HEAR OUR VOICE.
